"If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, and My people who are called by my name humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
II Chronicles 7:13-14
One of our 'wicked ways' as the Body of Christ in America is our failure to VOTE in vast numbers, thus allowing the ungodly to take control of civil government, passing laws that violate the laws of God, jeopardizing our God given freedoms, bringing a curse upon our families, neighborhoods and the nation.
As we humble ourselves, pray, seek His face and turn from our wicked ways--including not VOTING--civil government in America will be restored "Under God". Our witness will improve, our joy will return, awakening and revival will follow, and the blessings of God will be restored in our lives and communities, and our nation healed.
Pray for those in authority over us, and for the people of God, that they will embrace the Restore America Vision, renew their commitment to good citizenship, register and VOTE, and encourage their friends and relatives, peers and associates to do the same.
God will not forgive our sin as a nation and as a people who profess to follow and worship Him unless we do several things:
Humble ourselves - Individually and collectively
Pray - Not just now and then, but daily, in brokenness and humility
Seek His Face - Long for, search for, and come into His presence in prayer and worship, seeking to hear His voice with a heart longing to obey
Turn from our wicked ways - Come face-to-face with our self-centeredness, habits, lusts, addictions, the love of the world, and those areas in which we are simply disobedient.
"The weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds; casting down imaginations and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ."
II Corinthians 10:3-5
"For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places."
"With all prayer and petition pray at all times in the Spirit..."
Ephesians 6:12,18
First of all, then I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgiving, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, in order that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity. This is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus."
